SS Rajamouli's magnum opus, 'RRR' scripted history when its power-packed iconic dance number, 'Naatu Naatu' clinched the prestigious Oscar award for 'Best Original Song'.

While it was obviously a proud and joyous moment for the entire country when the composer of the hit Telugu track, MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose, accepted the award, it was a dream come true moment and a surreal experience for the lead stars of 'RRR', Jr NTR and Ram Charan.

The actor who gave an electrifying performance in perfect synchrony with his 'RRR' co-star, Ram Charan in the song 'Naatu Naatu', while speaking about the song's big win at the Oscars said, "I cannot find the words to express my elation right now. This is not just a win for RRR but for India as a country. I believe this is just the beginning. Showing us how far Indian cinema can go. Congratulations to Keeravaani garu and Chandrabose garu. Of course, none of this would have been possible without a master storyteller called Rajamouli and the audiences who showered us with all the love."

Congratulating the team of 'The Elephant Whisperers' on winning the Oscar for the 'Best Category Short Film' Jr NTR further added, "I would also like to congratulate the team of 'The Elephant Whisperers' on their win today bringing another Oscar to India."

Back in March, 'Naatu Naatu' won the coveted Academy Award trumping big names like Rihanna and Lady Gaga. Composer MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose accepted the award on behalf of the team. Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava and composer along with director S.S. Rajamouli and lead actors Jr NTR and Ram Charan were all present at the big event.

For the unversed, 'Naatu Naatu' is the first Telugu song to be nominated in the 'Original Song' category at the 95th edition of the Oscars Awards. Whereas, Ram Charan and Jr NTR-starrer, 'RRR' is a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Ram Charan and Jr NTR played lead roles, respectively. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran also starred in the film.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Jr NTR who is turning a year older on May 20 is gearing up for his next, 'NTR 30', where he will share screen space with Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor.
