Mythology in India is a difficult concept to explain. Though there have been many versions that have lived over several centuries, any new interpretation is tricky, as they are believed to be true. But Pradeep Yadav and Vijayendra Mohanty have decided to walk the tightrope with not just a new interpretation of scenes from the Mahabharata and Ramayana but also one that is irreverent and satirical. A series of panels titled Epic Fail was posted on the Facebook page Paperqube twice a month. Since the first panel posted on October 18, the series has been consistently gaining detractors and fans. And a feature responsible for the growing popularity is the cool and witty responses the angry comments get from the team.

The crafter of the comments and the panels, Mohanty says that they try and engage with all people who are commenting because they respect their sentiments and opinions. "But at the same time we do need to get the point across that more things like Epic Fail should exist," he says.
