Multi-lingual pop rock outfit Nirmika & The Few Good Men are all set to play an acoustic set in the city
Velvety vocals, trippy music and infectious lyrics that’s how the band likes to describe itself and its work. Nirmika & The Few Good Men is a pop-rock outfit, with influences of jazz and reggae thrown into the mix. In fact, reggae features quite regularly in their compositions. “Reggae exudes a very happy, positive vibe. We do have intense songs as well, but you can dance to reggae, right? It works for us. Our songs are very enjoyable,” says Nirmika Singh.

Along with melodies, they also put in a lot of effort into the lyrics. Singh writes both in Hindi and in English. “Not many people are doing Hindi songs. Even for me, it was like going back to my roots; my mother tongue is Hindi. We try to bring out certain colloquial elements that not many people are exploring,” she says.
The result shows in songs like Shor Macha, Jhoothe and Mujhko Fikar Kya. One can also expect Love Is A Balloon and Thoughts Of You at the acoustic show they are doing this Tuesday. Although the full setup has five members, the acoustic gig will have three people Nirmika (vocalist), the multi-talented Jose Neil Gomes (guitar, violin and percussion) and Anand Bhagat (percussion).
