Split over a period of a month, the two trails offer a chance to understand Mumbai's biodiversity before and during monsoon.

The first trail takes place on June 12 with the aim to study nature as it awaits for the monsoon. The second trail that kicks off on July 10, post a few showers, will reflect the forest reviving itself after the merciless summer.

Both trails make for a good platform to gauge flora including how changing weather affects trees like Red Silk Cotton, Pongam Tree, Kusumb, Ghost Tree, Crocodile Bark Tree and Teak.

Visitors can also hope to catch a glimpse of migratory Pied Crested Cuckoo and Indian Pitta along with birds like White-Rumped Shama, Indian Grey Hornbill, Puff-Throated Babbler, Magpie Robin, Golden Oriole and Brown-Headed Barbet.

Even locally spotted birds like Hawk Cuckoo and Peacock are active at this time of the year.

In fact, the second trail might be a good opportunity to witness myriad lilies adorn the forest floor. it might also be the ideal time to spot the many varieties of frogs that inhabit the green cover within Mumbai.
