Watch Pune-based Hard Rock band, Silver, go unplugged and perform a set of originals and covers, tonight at Swig

Vocalist and bassist Paul Stanley of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal band KISS once said, "If you can't play your song on the acoustic guitar, it has to be a crappy song." Well, music band Silver doesn't have to worry about this, as they have been giving power-packed performances in the past. But tonight, they are back with their unplugged set as they did last year with an aim to give their fans a taste of their music.u00a0

Silver comprises Mahesh on vocals, Savio on guitar and vocals, Rishi on bass and vocals and Amit on drums and percussion.u00a0Known for their high on energy performances, this set will include a mix of originals and covers.u00a0

"Our fans are used to our power-packed performances on stage, but this set will be very different. We plan to invite a few musicians from the circuit to join us for one or two songs," informs Savio.

Silver has a lot to their credit: They have been national level winners of Yamaha Roxx 2008, have represented India in Taiwan at the Asian Beat 2008 and are winners of Independence Rock XXIII held in 2008.

The band will soon be releasing their debut album, titled Silver, by the end of January. When asked why it took them so long to release an album, Savio says, "It took us four years because a lot of hard work went into making the album. New ideas and new elements have been incorporated into this album."

While bands nowadays prefer to promote their music virtually, Silver wants to go the old-school way and bring out an album CD, which defines the band. The album launch is a month away and the band plans to have the tracks up for download soon after the launch.u00a0

"As a kid, the inlay of a cassette used to have so much information about the band and their music, which is missing today. It was fun reading the inlay back then. We aim at doing something similar," says Savio.

At the venue tonight, you will get to hear a set of originals including Feel the Heat, Decide, Blue Shining Angel and Funky Junky. They will also perform covers by renowned bands such as KISS, Police and Nirvanau00a0among others.
