Philanthropist A G Anil Kumar extends his support to the ones ailing during COVID Crisis

COVID-19 has put humanity to a test like never before. With the catastrophe, the virus caused in a year and a half, a lot of people lost more than just lives. The only thing that somehow helped the country to reel back from the havoc has to be the effective administration and the timely help of emerging COVID warriors, who kept aside all feelings of terror, materialism, and personal safety and came up with their resources to alleviate the sufferings of the ones in need. Apart from the ones standing on the frontline, Anil Kumar emerged as a one-of-a-kind individual, putting all his resources to use in elevating and playing his part to help the world heal from the ongoing crisis.


 


Hailing from Ananthapuram, South India’s biggest district in Andhra Pradesh, A G Anil Kumar answered the urgent call of help during the second wave and brought forth his endeavour of ‘Heal Ananthapuram’ under the eye of AGS Reddi Organization, with which he pledged to fortify the lives of all frontline & essential workers. His venture being the medium of his philanthropic activities witnessed him distributing over 90,000 N-95 masks, 1.5 lakh surgical masks, 75,000 surgical gloves, and 60,000 sanitizers. To fund it all, Anil Kumar used his entire life savings amounting to INR 85 lakhs to ensure that his town gets everything they need.


 

Under his mindful campaign of ‘Breathe Ananthapuram’, Anil Kumar disseminated 28 Oxygen Concentrators for the underprivileged. The Greater Portland Telugu Association, childhood friends and family also showed their constant support for the good deed. The pandemic also brought a huge scarcity of food with people losing their livelihoods and having no medium to earn their living. To solve this issue, Anil Kumar with AGS Reddi Organization launched the venture ‘One Lakh Meal’ which served cooked meals thrice a day to patients’ attendants and the poor people on the street, alleviating the hunger in town. Apart from this, they have also procured groceries for over thousands of families.

 

Even during the first wave of the pandemic, Anil was distinctive, and visited a plethora of COVID ICUs and patient wards of a variety of government hospitals. The man, said to have a heart of gold, went to the hospitals, engaging and interviewing health care workers and patients, following all the aspects of sanitation and hygiene to document their fights against the impending virus. He also initiated an endeavor garnering ten percent of the state’s population to pursue them in plasma donation and help all those looking for potential donors to save lives.

 

Using Facebook as the medium, he introduced the idea of ‘Discover Ananthapuram’, and with his NGO having a motto of ‘Hope Lives Here’, he introduced a variety of digital campaigns reaching millions of people, enlightening and guiding them with prim and proper ways to fight against the virus. This campaign was a part of his Adding more value to that, even Ananthapuram’s clock tower was covered with a huge mask to strengthen the importance of wearing a mask now at all times.

 

Though the country is on its peak of healing and people are with each passing day being a little more cautious, the dangers of a third wave can not go unnoticed. Realizing the same, A G Anil Kumar is mindful that he leaves no stone unturned if the unfortunate does happen. Accounting for his effective methods, it could be said that Anil is on an extraordinary  mission to help the world recover in his own ways and reel back to the normal ways of living.
