Ribbed hoop earrings are taking up the spotlight this season. A stylist shares how to wear them right

Recently, ribbed hoop earrings have been making their way into a variety of outfits, and platforms have been offering different interpretations to suit different tastes. If this is a closet addition you would like to invest in, Mumbai-based fashion stylist Richa Mehta draws out three opposing looks that these hoops can elevate. “Simple, trendy and effective, ribbed hoop earrings are a versatile staple in minimalist fashion,” says Mehta. She explains that these earrings are a favourite go-to accessory that not only complement outfits but also hold them cohesively. They suit all styles and occasions from the red carpet, and celebrity and fashion blogger appearances to a daily staple in your wardrobe for the office, dinner, or a grocery run. “Celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Prajakta Koli, and Bella Hadid have been seen sporting this accessory on more than one occasion whether it is a casual outing or a glammed-up event. It is currently one of the chicest accessories,” Mehta highlights.

Ribbed hoops for office wear

Working with style
>> Daily chic: Pair formal ankle trousers with a silk pastel shirt and small gold ribbed hoop earrings like the one above to add style to your daily office wear.
>> Make-up cool: Add a small winged eye and peachy cheeks with a ponytail if you have long hair.

Mid-sized ribbed hoops

Out and about
>> Size it up: Wear leggings with an oversized white shirt and mid-sized ribbed hoops. This is perfect for a relaxed but cute look for a grocery run or a coffee date.
>> Complete the look: Wear sneakers or slide-ins with a colour-coordinated oversized bag and sunglasses.

Mehta suggests that this style can be bought from almost any platform, in all sizes and designs. She adds that the earrings go by different names; ask for twisted hoops or croissant hoops and pick a design that resonates with your personal style.
