This problem is spiraling out of control and causing safety concerns across the city. While Mumbai’s residents are deeply attached to their pets, there’s a growing divide with those who are concerned about the safety risks posed by stray dogs. Over the past few years, incidents involving stray dogs have been on the rise, and the safety of Mumbaikars is now under threat. One shocking incident happened recently when a child was severely injured by a pitbull after it was abandoned at Mahim beach. The person responsible vanished, leaving the dog behind. Satej Shide, a photographer from Mid-Day, who intervened in the situation, was himself injured in the process.
