Three persons were arrested on Friday for allegedly killing a Thane security guard in Ganeshpuri in Thane district, a police official said, reported news agency PTI.

Amrendra Singh (43), the Thane security guard of a spiritual centre, was killed on May 1, following which rickshaw driver Gurunath Thackeray (45) and farmers Gurunath Wazre (53) and Dashrath Wazre (51) were held, the Ganeshpuri police station official said, reported PTI.

"Singh's motorcycle allegedly dashed against Thackeray's rickshaw, which led to a fight. Singh died in the assault. A fourth accused, Rupesh Thackeray, who is the rickshaw driver's son, is on the run," he added, reported PTI.

In another case, three persons were arrested in Mira Road in Thane district for alleged involvement in duping overseas job seekers, a police official said on Friday, reported PTI.

The probe into the racket began on April 27 after a complaint was filed in Navghar police station, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Prakash Gaikwad, reported PTI.

"As per the complaint, some people had taken Rs 71,000 from him after promising overseas placement. They also took his passport. Our probe found some 100-150 persons had been cheated of Rs 10.20 lakh by this gang," he said.

The official identified the arrested persons as Abrar Ahmed Mukthar Shah, Vasim Sahil Yasim Shah, and Mohammad Tarique Faizal Kadri Abdul Gaffar Siddiqui, reported PTI.

"We recovered Rs 6.02 lakh from them as well as 149 passports. Further probe is underway," he said.

Meanwhile, police have arrested two managers of a spa in Navi Mumbai for allegedly pushing a woman employee into flesh trade, an official said on Thursday, reported PTI.

An FIR has been registered against the duo under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 370 (human trafficking) and 34 (common intention) and provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, he said.

The accused have been identified as Sagar Rohidas Karotia (25) and Akash Daulat Vairale (26), who were arrested on Wednesday at around 5.00 am, he said, reported PTI.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Turbhe police station raided the spa, located behind a mall in Vashi on April 30 night and caught the duo. They are accused of forcing a female employee of the spa to indulge in flesh trade under the garb of providing massage services, the official said, reported PTI.
