Dec 16 gang rape case sentencing on Friday

A Delhi court on Wednesday reserved the order on sentencing the four convicted in the December 16 gang rape case to Friday. Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna said he would deliver the verdict on September 13

Additional Public Prosecutor Dayan Krishnan sought death penalty for all the four who were convicted for the gang rape and murder of the 23-year-old. Police sought death penalty for the attackers, saying ‘they only deserve the death sentence’.u00a0

The defence counsel, however, sought leniency saying the crime was committed on the ‘spur of the moment and was not premeditated’.u00a0
