At least eight Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel were killed Thursday when two helicopters collided mid-air near Jamnagar in Gujarat, an air force spokesperson said
The collision at the Sarmat ranges near Jamnagar, about 275 km from Ahmedabad, took place while two Russian-origin Mi-17 cargo choppers of the air force were on a training mission shortly after taking off from the Jamnagar airbase.

The villagers, who witnessed the accident, said the two choppers collided soon after take off and crashed near the village, 15 kms from Jamnagar city.u00a0
