Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has issued a diktat to legendary singer Asha Bhosle not to participate in a music reality show as it would mean sharing the stage with three Pakistani singers.

The MNS activists have also threatened to disrupt the shoots of the channel if it airs the programme.

Television channel ‘Colors’ is all set to screen ‘Sur Kshetra’ from September 8. The singing reality show will see Pakistani singers Atif Aslam, Runa Laila and Abida Parveen share the stage with Asha Bhosle and singer-music director-actor Himesh Rashmmiya.

MNS's film wing -- Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (MNCKS) has written to the veteran singer and the channel cautioning them against allowing Pakistani artistes to perform in India.

Amey Khopkar, who heads MNCKS, said, "We will not allow any shoot of Colors if they go ahead and ban products of the programme sponsors,"

Khopkar said he has written a letter to Bhosle asking her to not to take part in the programme. "We have also asked Colors not to invite Pakistani singers and warned the channel of consequences if it airs the programme with these guest artistes," he said.

"When Pakistan is inflicting injuries on us why should we entertain Pakistani artistes," he said, referring to a 'ban' on Salman Khan starrer 'Ek Tha Tiger' in Pakistan. He also asked people not to watch such shows.
