At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the rupee fell by 2 paise to 46.23 a dollar. The rupee had closed higher by 9 paise at 46.21/22 a dollar in the previous session.
Forex dealers said the dollar gaining against other Asian currencies and a weak trend on stock markets weighed on the rupee sentiment.
