In preparation for the massive crowds expected during the Maghi Purnima Snan on Wednesday, February 12, the district administration in Prayagraj has introduced stringent traffic regulations. To avoid the chaos experienced earlier this week, the entire Maha Kumbh area will be designated a ‘no vehicle zone.’ On Monday, February 10, thousands of devotees heading to Prayagraj were caught in traffic jams that stretched over 300 kilometers, with some travelers stranded for more than 30 hours. In response, the police advised people to turn back if possible. To prevent a repeat of this crisis, the Maha Kumbh district administration has devised a new traffic management plan.
