Northern Railway`s CPRO, Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, denied allegations of train cancellations and platform changes. Addressing the cause of the stampede, he clarified that the incident occurred when a man slipped while crossing the foot overbridge. At the time, Magadh Express, heading to Patna, was on platform 14, and Uttar Sampark Kranti, bound for Jammu, was on platform 15. The passenger’s fall caused a chain reaction, leading to the tragic event as others were hit. Upadhyay emphasized that the incident is under investigation by a high-level committee. He confirmed that no trains were cancelled or had platform changes, and all services are running as scheduled. The situation at the station is now normal.
