The victims were killed by falling debris in Shevchenkivskyi, according to Kyiv City Military Administration head Timur Tkachenko. Desnyansky district also experienced falling debris due to the Russian strikes.
Kyiv’s mayor, Vitalii Klitschko, reported broken windows and significant damage to a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district. Smoke was observed at the entrance of the residential building in Shevchenkivskyi following the attack.
The Russian strikes also damaged a water supply pipeline in Kyiv. The Lukyanivska metro station was closed due to damage from the attacks.
The glass entrance to the Lukyanivska metro station was shattered during the missile strike.
The Ukrainian authorities have yet to provide further details on the extent of the damage. The attack marks the continued escalation of Russia’s assault on Ukraine’s capital.
