After losing the toss, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were put in to bat first in their IPL 2025 match against GT at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Opening the innings, both openers, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli, returned to the pavilion on low scores. Salt scored 14 and Kohli departed on just seven runs.
At number three, Devdutt Padikkal could only add four runs before getting out. He was followed by skipper Rajat Patidar, who scored 12 runs off 12 deliveries, including two fours.
Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma held firm for RCB. Jitesh's innings ended after a brisk 33 off 21 balls, which included five fours and a six. Meanwhile, Livingstone played a gritty knock of 54 runs off 40 balls, hitting one four and five sixes.
Completing his quota of four overs, Gujarat's pacer Mohammed Siraj picked up three wickets against his former team, RCB, conceding just 19 runs
Arshad Khan and Ishant Sharma and Prasidh Krishna also chipped in with one wicket each
Later in the match, star spinner Sai Kishore bagged two wickets for 22 runs in four overs. RCB managed to post a target of 170 runs for the loss of eight wickets
