Spain coach Vicente del Bosque was not particularly pleased by his side's performance despite defeating Honduras 2-0 at Ellis Park to record their opening win of the tournament yesterday.
Bosque, the former Real Madrid boss admitted that he would have liked his side to have been more clinical in front of goal.
Spain face Chile in their final group match, knowing that only a win will guarantee them a place in the knock-out stages.
Besides going for a win, they will also need to beat them by a good margin to not have any hiccups. Switzerland are favourites to win their game against Honduras and the group might see three teams on six points. Such a scenario makes goals very vital and Spain could have easily score three more goals yesterday to make things comfortable for them.
Del Bosque, is obviously aware of how his strikers' profligacy has made things a lot more complicated for the 2008 Euro champs.
"After today's game I think we have powered our way to victory. I don't think we played a great game at all.
We should have scored more goals, and I am not entirely satisfied by our performance today."
"We played Chile in December 2008. There are a good side, very aggressive and they attack very quickly. I think like all Latin American teams they will do well in the tournament."
Key moments
17th minute: David Villa cut in from the left beating two defenders before rounding a third attempt at a tackle and unleashing a shot into the roof of the net.
51st minute: David Villa's shot from 20 metres takes a wicked deflection off Osman Chavez's knee and loops over the outstretched hand of goalkeeper Noel Valladares.
61st minute: Emilio Izaguirre's foul on Jesus Navas in the penalty area gives David Villa the opportunity to record the second hat-trick of the tournament but he side-foots the spot-kick wide.
How they fared
Honduras
Wilson Palacios: Had an intriguing battle in midfield but committed too many fouls, although some of them benefited his side as it broke up Spain's flowing attacks.
Maynor Figueroa: Was too slow in closing down David Villa in the lead up to the goal. But made up by making crucial interceptions to prevent a heavier defeat.
David Suazo: The former Inter man found little joy up front on his own. Couldn't find any space as he was tightly marked by Carles Puyol and company.
Spain
David Villa:u00a0 Scored both goals in a man of the match performance. Played out left to accommodate Fernando Torres and terrorised the defence.
Xabi Alonso: The deep-lying playmaker orchestrated Spain's attacks with a delightful range of passes and crosses.
Gerard Pique: Covered for right-back Sergio Ramos, who took up positions high up the pitch, and intercepted everything.
