Mitashi GameIn Smarty Pro 2.0

The Mitashi GameIn Smarty Pro 2.0 looks a lot like Sony’s PSP, but it doesn’t play any PlayStation games. The device features a 4.3-inch LCD screen and has around 3,000 games built-in. This includes 8-, 16- and 32-bit titles. The Smarty Pro has 4GB internal memory and it can be expanded with a 32GB microSD. If you are looking for a device to play retro games and watch videos on, this one does both. The Smarty Pro 2 also has a camera that can be used to click photos. It is, however, on the expensive side.

Fusine 99000 in 1

If you are going for the classic retro look, then you might want to consider the Fusine 99000 in 1. This thing looks like a PS1 but is an 8-bit console that lets you put in old school cartridges. You can find old cartridges on Amazon. You need a TV screen to play with this console. Along with the regular controllers, you also get a light gun that can be used to play games like Duck Hunt. The build quality is not all that great and you get what you paid for.

PVP Station

This is another PSP clone, but only in the looks department. It is very much a retro console with everything you need to play on the go. It can be used to play on TV using an AV out and this one takes GameBoy cartridges. So, if you have some of them lying around, you could easily use them with this. The console comes with 3,000 games built-in. It comes with a 2.8-inch screen and can do 5-7 hours of gameplay on a single charge.

Meesa Game Console

Speaking of shameless clones, this one goes all out to copy the Nintendo NES Classic that was launched a few years ago. Since it is an unofficial product, it goes one step further to include 620 games, unlike the 30 games that were included in the original. Not only that, it also has cloned the look of the classic Nintendo controller for the full experience. Considering how hard it is to find a Nintendo NES Classic, this one makes great sense at this price.

UBOX Game Player

UBOX Game Player has the look of a GameBoy Micro and has 200 games built-in. The games are classic SNES and NES games that we have all grown up with. The console is only 14 cm wide and features a 3-inch screen. The device can run on regular pencil cells and can be powered by a lithium-ion cellphone battery as well. The Game Player has TV-out, which means you can play it on a bigger screen. However, at this price, it is too expensive and you are essentially paying for the size and look of the device over function.

99000 in 1 Portable 8 Bit Console

So, there aren’t exactly 99,000 games on this one, rather different versions of the same game. Pretty similar to the duplicate game cartridges we used to get that said 10,000 games in one. The great part of this console is it’s a controller and a console all in one. This one doesn’t have a screen, so you have to connect it to a TV to play. It includes all the classic games, including some cricket-based titles.

Mitashi GameIn Smarty Chotu

Available in two colours, the Chotu is a pretty cool gaming console. It features a 2.8-inch screen and comes with 500 games built-in. The Chotu can also use GBA cartridges which is a great option to have in a retro console. The console supports TV output using the AV cable and has a built-in rechargeable battery. The battery offers between 2-3 hours of total gameplay. The Mitashi also has an unconventional layout which will take getting used to.

SUP 400 in 1 Retro Game Box

If I had to pick one retro-clone for myself, it would probably be this one. It comes with 400 classic games built into the device. You can output the game on a TV using AV cables. The screen on the device is a 3-inch colour display. The console lets you game for six hours on the 600mAh rechargeable battery. The look of the console is closer to a classic Gameboy and this one is available in a bunch of colours. For the price, it offers good value for money for on-the-go retro gaming.

Giftmax 500 in 1

What’s better than a retro console? How about one with a fan built-in? The Giftmax 500 in 1 has 500 8-bit games built-in, has the look of a classic GameBoy and then for some reason a gigantic fan. Honestly, this thing was built for public transport. If I had to travel to work every day, I’d probably buy one of these. The console comes with an 800mAh battery and is available in four colour options. The battery life for the fan is 10 hours and the video game  eight hours.
