The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had, earlier in the day, also predicted light to moderate rainfall towards the evening and night

The forecast predicted maximum temperatures to reach around 34 degree Celcius, while minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 25 degree Celcius

The humidity levels may also increase, making conditions feel warmer than the recorded temperatures, the IMD stated in its weather bulletin

Looking ahead to the next 48 hours, the weather is expected to remain similar, with a partly cloudy sky and the potential for thunderstorms in the evening and nighttime hours, the IMD stated

Meanwhile, on October 19, the Central Pollution Control Board’s SAMEER app reported in its latest Mumbai weather updates that the city’s air quality was in the 'good' category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 50 at 9:05 AM

Unlike its streak so far, many areas across Mumbai—per the SAMEER app dashboard—showed 'good' AQI. However, Mazgaon's AQI slipped further into the 'moderate' category, at 104
