PM Modi’s visit to Smruti Mandir makes him the first-ever sitting Prime Minister to pay homage at this historic site. Accompanying him were RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre in Nagpur. He paid respects at Deekshabhoomi, where Dr B R Ambedkar embraced Buddhism with thousands of his followers in 1956.
In his message at Deekshabhoomi, PM Modi stated that a developed and inclusive Bharat would be the true tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar. On social media, he reflected on the influence of Dr Hedgewar and Guruji Golwalkar, calling them sources of inspiration and strength.
The visit coincided with Varsha Pratipada, which is also the Jayanti of Dr Hedgewar, making the occasion even more special. BJP spokesperson Kesavan described the visit as a tribute to RSS' role in nation-building, patriotism, and cultural preservation.
He contrasted the national unity of BJP and RSS with the divisive politics of the dynastic Congress. The Prime Minister’s visit reinforced the deep ideological and cultural connections between the BJP and the RSS.
Thousands gathered in Nagpur to witness the historic moment, with PM Modi receiving a warm welcome at the airport. The visit highlighted RSS' century-long contributions to India’s cultural, social, and national development.

PM Modi signed the visitor’s book at Smruti Mandir, marking a significant moment in the organisation’s history.
