S Jaishankar, on Monday spoke on Hardeep Singh Nijjar killing and said India has never received anything specific or worthy of being pursued by probe agencies.

Jaishankar, who is in Mumbai presently, said that New Delhi is open to probing if Canada has any evidence or information related to violence which is relevant to be probed in India.

The EAM, with Shaina NC and Keshav Upadhyay, was addressing a press conference at the National Stock Exchange in Bandra Kurla Complex.

During the press conference, he was questioned about Hardeep Singh Nijjar's killing since fourth suspect was arrested by Canadian authorities recently.

The EAM further said that the government or the embassy of the country of origin is informed when foreign nationals are arrested as a consular practice.

Nijjar, a separatist leader, was killed outside Guru Nanak Sikh Gurudwara in Surrey of Canada's British Columbia on June 18, 2023.

The fourth arrest in the Nijjar murder case came a week after police arrested three Indians linked with the high-profile case that has severely strained Indo-Canadian diplomatic relations.

Amandeep Singh, 22, a resident of Brampton in Canada, was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
