Anand Akhada worships Suryanarayana, the Sun God, as its presiding deity, and is also renowned for establishing educational institutions focused on Hindu scriptures, yoga, meditation, and martial arts. Acharya Mandleswar Balkanand Ji Maharaj of Anand Akhada announced that saints associated with the Akhada from around the world would settle in Mela tents starting Monday.
Balkanand Ji Maharaj mentioned that the Sun God would provide energy and spiritual growth to all participants at the Mahakumbh Mela. A palpable atmosphere of spiritual fervour and devotion has taken over Prayagraj, with the Maha Kumbh Mela drawing near.
Seers from major akhadas, including Niranjani Akhada, Ahwan Akhada, Atal Akhara, Mahanirvani Akhara, Niranjani Akhada, and Juna Akhada, have already begun settling in the Mela area. The Mahakumbh Mela, celebrated once every 12 years, is expected to attract over 45 crore devotees.
Devotees will gather at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, to take a holy dip believed to absolve sins and grant moksha. To ensure a safe and grand Maha Kumbh celebration in 2025, Uttar Pradesh Police have implemented heightened security measures, including vehicle checks and identity verification for those entering the area.
The police have also deployed a bomb squad and are conducting daily security drills with the assistance of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and state police. In addition to increased security measures, Uttar Pradesh authorities have rolled out 40 electric buses for devotees, with plans to add 30 more buses from Lucknow to enhance transportation across various routes during the Mela.
