IN PHOTOS: Over 100 million devotees take the holy dip at Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh 2025

The ongoing Mahakumbh-2025 in Prayagraj has attracted an unprecedented number of devotees, with over 100 million taking a holy dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam since the event's commencement in January. The official Mahakumbh social media account also shared the achievement, marking the historic moment of over 10 crore devotees bathing in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. The Uttar Pradesh government anticipates that the total number of attendees for this Maha Kumbh will exceed 45 crore.
Devotees from around the world, including Russia and Ukraine, have travelled to Prayagraj, transcending political and national boundaries in the spirit of unity. A remarkable atmosphere of peace and spiritual unity was witnessed, with devotees singing "Hare Rama Hare Krishna" during kirtans in the cold winter evening.
A devotee from Russia, speaking to ANI, shared a message of unity, stating that participants from several countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Europe, and the USA, had come together for the event. The devotee added that the gathering at the Mahakumbh was an embodiment of spiritual harmony, where people, regardless of gender or nationality, united under Sanatana Dharma.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several state ministers took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam earlier this week to mark their participation in the event. Preparations for the upcoming Mauni Amavasya on January 29 are underway, with authorities bracing for even larger crowds of devotees.
The Kumbh Mela is known for its spiritual significance and attracts people from across the world, symbolising the power of faith and devotion. The Maha Kumbh 2025 promises to be one of the largest and most spiritually enriching gatherings, as millions continue to bathe in the sacred waters of the Ganga.
