Washington DC Plane crash: 18 bodies recovered so far, Rescue operation underway

A small plane crashed into the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport late Wednesday. Fire boats were quickly on the scene, according to the Washington fire department. At least 18 bodies have been recovered so far, CBS reported. The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia said they are responding to the crash and a large search and rescue operation is ongoing. U.S. Senator Jerry Moran from Kansas shared that the plane was coming from Kansas when it crashed. The airport confirmed that all flights were temporarily stopped while emergency teams worked on the incident. The National Transportation Safety Board is also gathering more details about what happened.
