Burhanuddin Rangwala, The young Mumbai Kick-Boxer, bags Medals for Maharashtra at National Championship

The Children's National Kickboxing Championship 2022 was held at BSF Camp, Rajdhabari, Siliguri, West Bengal. The event was organized by WAKO India Kickboxing Federation and is recognized by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. Of India.


In this competition, Burhanuddin Rangwala, age 7, from Mumbai City represented Maharashtra at National Level. Children from all over India were present in the competition. Burhanuddin participated in two events and bagged medals in both of them. The Seven-Year-Old was really sharp in his punches & kicks, he was able to dance around his opponent and use crisp and clean techniques to win his way up on the scoreboards.


He bagged a gold medal in Kick-Light and a silver medal in Point-Fight. Burhanuddin got home two medals for the state and earned praises from all of his coaches and seniors.

Burhanuddin studies in HVB Global Academy, Marine Lines. The principal of the school, Dr. Chandrakanta Pathak and all the teachers of HVB Global Academy have congratulated him and are extremely proud of him. Dr. C. Pathak and the teachers of the school have given their best wishes to the rising champ. The little kid loves playing other sports in his school too apart from having a keen interest in kick-boxing. 

He has been training for kick-boxing since the age of 4 and has shown constant dedication and tremendous improvement. From not being able to hold his tears to becoming tough and not crying in ring, Burhan has shown how dedicated he is to the sport. The champ is being trained and guided by coaches Rohit Bhandarri and Sahil Baperkar from Cheetahh Martial Arts.

He has participated in several kick-boxing championships and wishes to continue the sport. The young kick-boxer also aspires to represent India on an international level soon!

Burhanuddin’s mother Sakina Nishanwala had also accompanied him to West Bengal and made sure her little champ remained fresh, ready and motivated before every fight. Burhanuddin’s parents Murtaza Rangwala and Sakina Nishanwala are extremely proud of their child and wish the best for all his future endeavours. Burhanuddin’s grandparents, Taiyeb and Zehra Nishanwala are overjoyed with their grandson’s achievement and wish him much more success.

Mumbai City President Umesh Murkar, Kickboxing Suburban President Vishal Singh and the President of Kick-Boxing Sports Association, Maharashtra, Nilesh Shelar wished the winner and their coaches all the best for the future endeavours.
