Censor Board's double standards?

Strange that the CBFC which has a problem with one word in a particular film and gets it cut, passes another film's trailer with that word in the title

Censor Board's double standards?

The big question seem to be playing on most producers' minds is what really does the Censor Board want? While the Board finds one word (sometimes often used in regular conversations) offensive, the same word and more such words are allowed in another film.

So, it didn't really come as a surprise that the Board has passed Rajkumar Hirani's production venture 'Saala Khadoos' trailer, without any cuts, whereas the same word 'saala' used in one of the dialogues in Neeraj Ghaywan's 'Masaan' was objected to.

'Masaan' had to delete 'saala' and 'saali' from the dialogues, even though he felt that it was pertinent to the situation. Perhaps the Board functions with its preconceived notion about the kind of filmmaker or director they are dealing with.

According to a source, the Censor Board didn't bat an eyelid while passing the title or the content of the trailer of he film.

The source says, "Interestingly the trailer of the film even has a title song with the word repeated several times. A part of the title song is played in the trailer."

A source close to the production company says they were pleasantly surprised by the Board's 'generosity' "We are surprised that there was no objection raised over 'saala'. We are happy that we got clearance."

'Saala Khadoos' has R Madhavan essay the role of a boxing coach. Madhavan is also the co-producer with Rajkumar Hirani. Ritika Singh, the female lead of the film, is a boxer in real life as well.

When contacted the film's spokesperson confirmed the story.
