After the spat between Ashutosh Gowariker and Sajid Khan at the Star Screen Awards on Wednesday night, a few filmmakers met at the UTV office, and talked about banning such awards in the future.
It is believed that besides Ashutosh, there was Ronnie Screwvala, Raj Kumar Hirani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

It is believed that these filmmakers have decided not to attend these awards functions in the future. And will only attend functions where they are shown the script in advance to avoid such unpleasantness the next time.

Too personal
A source reveals, "All these directors have been at the receiving end at some point or the other and they believe that masti and fun can and should be done upto a point. They felt that the jokes have been crossing a line and getting personal. They even talked about SRK and his brand of humour"
A source close to the Jodhaa Akbar director says, "Having fun is acceptable but making fun isn't approved. Farah Khan reminding Ashutosh about the Oscars protocol was not done. Ashutosh has been to the Oscars.

Directors like Vidhu Vinod Copra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali are also not in favour of Sajid hosting the award functions.
In the past these directors too have had their set of issues with Sajid and Farah clan. These directors refrain from being around or attending any kind of show which involves them."
A source close to the Khan brother and sister adds, "It's all in good humour. These people need to lighten up.u00a0 This kind of ribbing happens at all award functions, even internationally.
If they cannot take the humour, they shouldn't attend these events. Aushtosh spoiled it for everyone. Everyone at the function, even the winners, went out feeling low."

Late Thursday afternoon, there were rumours that Sajid Khan had called up Ashutosh and the two had sorted out their differences. But the Swades director stresses that nothing of the sort happened.
In his words: No one has called me. I have not spoken to anyone. So nothing is solved. Let me tell you that I vented only 20 per cent of the anger that I felt at the award function.
To tell you in a nutshell, the hosts of the show made fun of me saying that I make long movies, they made fun of Aamir, Neeraj Pandey, Anurag Kashyap, and every award presenter and award winner that came on stage.

Not done. Will not be allowed from now on! At any award function!! Awards are important. People must be honoured. Not disgraced and made fun of.
Every creative person works very hard to achieve recognition, fame, respect and dignity. That cannot be broken at an award night by a host whose duty is to host, whose duty is to honour the nominees.
Mazaak karne aur mazaak udaane mein farq hai! And let me also add here, that I love awards. And I will attend every award function whether nominated or not. I will always attend awards!
