Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap had Imtiaz Ali’s daughter Ida Ali as a guest on her podcast 'Young, Dumb & Anxious' where the two spoke about trauma bonding. The two gal pals recalled the time Aaliyah's house help held the two of them, hostage, in an attempted robbery after their parents went out together.

Aaliyah said that they were “not kidnapped technically because we were at home. We were a part of a robbery."

Aaliyah revealed that the two families lived in the same building and one day when their parents went out, Ida came over and the two girls were watched over by her maternal grandmother and a female house help.

“Her parents and my parents were going out together somewhere and she (Ida) was staying at my house and my nani was there. My nani was watching us and so was our didi, who was working in our house at the time,” said Aaliyah.

She further stated how the house help tied the two girls to a chair and taped their mouths leaving them crying.

“She locked my nani in the room in the evening after my parents left. She taped Ida and my mouth and tied our hands to a chair. We were crying and freaking out because we thought we are going to die. So basically she was stealing stuff from the house. She was stealing jewellery and money or whatever was in the house,” Aaliyah recalled.

However, 15 minutes later, Aaliyah’s mother Aarti Bajaj returned after she had forgotten something and walked in on the horrifying scene of the kids being held hostage. “Thankfully, my mom had left something and she came back like 15-20 minutes later to pick it up and she saw everything that had happened and she called her parents, my dad everyone back and they like freaked out. It was obviously traumatic but it would have been a lot more traumatic if we went through that alone,” she shared.

For the unversed, the 'Gangs of Wasseypur' director shares daughter Aaliyah with his ex-wife and Indian film editor Aarti Bajaj. The duo married in 1997 and got divorced in 2009. Aaliyah is a social media influencer who promotes different labels through her social media accounts and creates videos on her YouTube channel.

On the other hand, Imtiaz Ali was married to Preety Ali for ten years before they got divorced in 2012.
