Bollywood actress Manushi Chhillar's journey from being a nobody to becoming Miss World and now, emerging as one of the promising stars of Bollywood is surely one for the books! But did you know her ambition wasn't to be an actress but to be a doctor? Yes, the actress wanted to pursue MBBS, but God had other plans for this beauty queen! Chhillar had previously revealed that it was her mother who pushed her to take part in the pageantry. And when she won, there was no looking back for her. She not only became the face for an international brand Estée Lauder, but was flooded with opportunities to star in films.

In 2022, Chillar grabbed the opportunity and went on to star in a period drama 'Samrat Prithviraj', which marked the beginning of her journey as an actress. The film established that Chillar can act, and is here to stay and slay. With the period drama, the beauty queen attracted fame and recognition, and her performance opened more such opportunities.

However, Samrat Prithviraj tanked at the box office. Manushi in an interview opened up about the failure of the film and said that she appreciated the time and work she had put into playing Sanyogita and added that the experience had taught her a lot about filming. She also recognised that she could do her best as an actress but couldn't control the outcome.

The actress while talking to Hindustan Times said, "Everything worked out for me so far, so, my expectations from life were more. Jokes apart, I did work hard a lot so it was disappointing. I learned that so many people come together to make a film, after years of hard work. As an actor, you can give your best and still the result is out of your control. You can’t control the audience. But since it was my first film, I did feel a tad bit of a loss."

With films such as ‘The Great Indian Family’ and ‘Operation Valentine’, Chhillar showcased her versatility. However, people spotted her hunger to perform with her latest release 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'. The actress was seen performing action like a pro right in her fourth film. She packed punches and threw kicks with such panache that the audience demanded to see her in more of such roles.

Now, on the work front, the actress is gearing up to star in ‘Tehran’, which will see her sharing the screen space for the first time with John Abraham. The film is slated to hit the theatres soon! Beyond acting, the actress has also turned into an entrepreneur. She recently launched her swimwear brand DWEEP.
