Biz in *mass pockets* - especially smaller centres - is an EYE-OPENER, brings back memories of #Sholay and #Gadar," he wrote.  The film will easily cross Rs 200 crore on Independence day.

Directed by Anil Sharma and written by Shaktimaan Talwar, Gadar 2 is a sequel to the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which starred Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, who reprise their roles in the latest film.

On Monday, the actor held a success press meet and spoke about the film to the media. The actor admitted to being nervous before the release of the film until he was made aware of the advance collections of the film. "When I got to know how the film is going to trend… Actually, I was very stressed before the release, like everyone is. I have always walked on the path of honesty which is also the toughest path because you’re all alone. But then the victory is also the sweetest. So when the film opened, I felt God within me. The entire evening, I kept crying, laughing. I met my father and told him, ‘Dad I’m not drunk! But I’m happy, I’ve gone mad with happiness.’ Main nikla gaddi leke, ek mod aaya, utthey mere naal mera rab aagaya,'" he said.

He further slammed the people who have been saying that the film is meant for a 'mass' audience and said that such comments reek of elitism. "I promise all my fans that I’m only going to make good films like these. They say films for ‘masses’. What do you mean by that word?! Public is public and that means everyone. Aap usko mass bolke neeche kar rahe ho? Aap bade ho? Aapko sa***n ko akkal nahi hai jo apne aap ko alag karta hai, usko samajh nahi hai hindustan kya hai. Understand our country, understand our home," he said.
