Tigmanshu Dhulia, a prominent filmmaker, expressed his anger against social media after discovering that his costume assistant was duped through his Instagram account.

Dhulia's journey as a director began with his critically acclaimed debut film 'Haasil' in 2003, which instantly established him as a promising talent in the industry. With a penchant for crafting compelling narratives and exploring the complexities of human relationships, he continued to leave an indelible mark with films like 'Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster' series, 'Paan Singh Tomar,' and 'Shagird.' Dhulia's work often delves into the heart of rural India, offering a unique perspective on social issues while maintaining a strong focus on character development.

During a conversation with Hindustan Times, the Bullet Raja director expressed his hatred toward social media and also revealed that he has filed a complaint against the matter with the cyber cell. “I have an account on Instagram, but I am not very tech-savvy and do not engage much on these platforms,” states Dhulia, recalling that the hacker asked his young assistant under the pretext that his online payment app was not functioning. Unsuspectingly, the assistant transferred the money, only to receive further requests for additional funds, totalling around 4,000.

The director further shared details about the complaint and said, “It’s quite shocking and disappointing to see such malicious acts targeting innocent individuals. I wonder about the reasons and intentions behind such actions. I am not using my Instagram account at all now, and the police are handling the investigation and recovery process for my account. I plan to follow up with the cops in a week regarding the progress.”

Towards the end, Dhulia mentioned how he does not like social media apps and tries to stay away from them. “I find social media very useless; it’s too much of a waste of time. Having a blue tick or maintaining my social media presence doesn’t bother me. I want social media out of my life,” he concluded.

Tigmanshu Dhulia’s last directorial was ‘Garmi.’ It features an ensemble star cast such as Mukesh Tiwari, Vineet Kumar, Pankaj Saraswat, Jatin Goswami, Vyom Yadav, Puneet Singh, Anurag Thakur, Anushka Kaushik, Disha Thakur, Dheerendra Gautam in pivotal roles. The series premiered on SonyLiv on April 21.
