An online session by a popular actor-singer will see her share her experiences and techniques

A musical take

Monali Thakur

If you’ve found yourself humming the tune of the hit Bollywood ballads Moh moh ke dhaage and Sawaar Loon more than once, you may be in luck — Monali Thakur will soon share the techniques she harnesses to set herself apart from the milieu. Thakur, who placed ninth in Indian Idol 2, is also the voice behind several other more recent numbers including Jhilmil piya from Shakuntala Devi and Mummy kasam from the Coolie No 1 remake.

During the session, she will focus on breathing, pitching and caring for your voice. She will also discuss the playback performance-related aspects of singing, such as overcoming stage fear and working with different music composers, perfecting your diction and working with co-artistes. The class is suitable for learners of all ages.
