With culture, community and sustainability at its core, gastro-pub chain SOCIAL has collaborated with The Art & Flea Project to kick off Culture Chutney, a two-day bazaar that will feature indie fashion and lifestyle brands which nudge people to make conscious choices.

The market — which is kicking off at the pub’s Versova outlet — is an initiative under the brand’s #SOS or #SocialOnSustainability venture. Alexander Valladares, chief marketing officer, Impresario Handmade Restaurants, which is behind the brand, tells us that they’ve always tried to be environmentally conscious. “The idea behind #SOS is that if we don’t promote conscious consumerism and keep it going, then it’ll catch up with us,” Valladares explains.

The flea is curated by The Art & Flea Project, a women-led creative incubator that works with the creative community to build capacity in the areas of arts and the environment. Homegrown art, clothing, decor, accessories and lifestyle brands such as Label Sugar, Cera-M clay studio, Windie, More Than Shapes and Yellogreenn will set up shop at the market. One can also find jewellery, clean beauty and wellness stores such as June, Gaia and Noupelle, among others. There will be a hand-poke tattoo booth, as well as workshops on nail-art and coaster-making. “The idea is to take Culture Chutney to all our other outlets across India, and give more exposure to these brands and promote the idea of conscious consumerism,” Valladares shares.

On: February 18 and 19, 12 pm to 8 pm
At: Versova SOCIAL, Andheri West.
