Police refute reports that rifles, mobile phones, etc recovered from terrorists will be auctioned

Refuting reports about plans to auction articles recovered from the 26/11 terrorists, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Daven Bharti, said, "The court will decide if it wants make such a move in the future."

Articles that are part of the evidence inu00a0 a case are retained for several years, while the case is contested in the court.

More so, if the case is highly sensitive like the Mumbai attacks, said a senior police officer.

The Mumbai police have seized a huge cache of arms and other equipment like satellite phones, mobile phones, AK 56 assault rifles, dry fruits and other items from the terrorists.

A list of all items recovered from the terrorists has been included in the dossier sent to the Pakistani government. The items are also mentioned in the charge sheet expected to be filed late this month.
