The coastal police's two boats saved seven fishermen from drowning after the vessel in which they were sailing in sank near the Colaba coast around 5 pm yesterday.
When the police picked up the Aai Bhavani's SOS, its two fibreglass speed boats called Koyna and Vishwa Krupa were diverted to rescue the fishermen.
The vessels, capable of touching speeds of up to 50 knots, reached the spot in less than 30 minutes and pulled the fishermen back on board.
