Mumbai Police's Crime Branch has arrested Ganesh Singh alias Dany, a wanted criminal and close aide of gangster Chhota Rajan. According to a report by India Today, police sources believe Dany was involved in a 27-year-old murder along top gangsters like Anil Parab, Sawtya and Sharad Shetty.

Originally from Uttarakhand, Dany became a part of Chhota Rajan's gang in 1985. He was an army man for a few years and also worked at a petrol pump after arriving in Mumbai due financial crisis.

Dany was arrested from the airport area and handed over to the DN Nagar police, to investigate his link with several murder and extortion cases. Dany was in charge of Chhota Rajan's operations in Chembur following the latter's arrest.

Sources at the crime branch believe that he may also have supplied arms for J Dey's murder. Police also feel that he has a possible involvement in union leader Datta Samant murder case as well.
