Five engineers at the international airport site in Navi Mumbai were injured after a stone from the blasting site hit them, on Saturday. Four of them were from GVK company while one from CIDCO.

Mohan Ninave, PRO, CIDCO, confirmed the incident, saying, "The engineers were more than 300 metres away from the blasting site, and one of the stones that flew from the site hit them. One engineer has fractured his hand. They are all admitted at the Apollo hospital in Belapur." Post the incident, villagers from the nearby Ulwe village carried out a protest and have stopped the blasting work.
