Speeding student dies in car crash

Vaibhav Talwalkar, a 23-year-old student died after his car rammed into a parked truck at Andheri West early Saturday morning. The accident happened near the junction of Bellevue Hospital on Link Road. According to the police officials, Talwalkar, a resident of Bandra, was driving at a high speed that caused the major impact to his vehicle after he crashed into a parked truck.

Talwalkar was rushed to Cooper Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Inspector Vijay Kadam from the Amboli police station, said the accident took place around 5.30 am when Talwalkar was on his way back from Oshiwara to Bandra. At the Bellevue junction, a taxi taking a right turn from Link Road came in the way of Talwalkar's Honda City. In order to avoid a collision with the taxi, Talwalkar took a hard left turn and rammed into a truck parked on the side of the road. The police have arrested the taxi driver, Adam Siddiqui (46) and are awaiting the post mortem reports, which will confirm whether Talwalkar was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Siddiqui claims that Talwalkar was driving at a speed above 120 km. The condition of the car also suggests that Talwalkar was speeding well above the limit.
