Subshree Bannerjee, 34, had taken his sister-in-law, her son, mother in-law and aunt visiting from Kolkata, to a shopping complex in Koramanagala on Sunday. They hired an auto on their way back home.
All gas
On the way to HSR Layout, the driver stopped at an isolated place on the pretext of checking the gas. He went behind the vehicle and soon returned with a huge knife.
"He caught my nephew Rohit's neck and threatened to slash it. He demanded money and other valuables.
"We handed over all our belongings including three bags containing 200 grams of gold jewellery and mobile phones. He was not satisfied and snatched three wrist watches from us and Rs 1,000 cash and sped away, leaving us behind," Bannerjee said.
To the rescue
The family took the help of passers-by and managed to reach Mico Layout station where they filed a complaint.

"We did not take down the number of the autorickshaw as it was pitch dark and he did not even have the display board," Bannerjee said.
