In what could be another case of a private contractor flouting construction norms in the Capital, three people were killed and over a dozen injured when a dilapidated two-storeyed building collapsed in village Jaitpur in Badarpur.
The building collapsed while it was being lifted with jacks and pulleys.
The incident took place on Tuesday at around 7 pm when labourers were working in a house owned by one Ved Prakash.
The Delhi Fire Service rescued 17 people and feared there could be more.
"We are investigating and are on the lookout for the contractor who has fled," said the cops.
