According to PTI, with the newfound promotion of senior advocate Kapil Sibal on his election as the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president on Thursday, Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, congratulated and encouraged him to continue advocating for democracy. Her encouragement was across social media platforms.

Sibal won with more than a thousand votes, according to sources. “Congratulations Kapil Sibal Ji for winning the Supreme Court Bar Association Presidency by a landslide margin!
