In a significant boost to the development and infrastructure of Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various key projects worth approximately Rs 7,000 crore during a visit to the region. The projects encompass a wide range of sectors, including energy, transportation, tourism, education, and more, an official statement said on Monday.

Among the notable projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister is the Mehsana - Bhatinda - Gurdaspur Gas Pipeline, constructed at a cost of about Rs 4,500 crore. This pipeline is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the gas-based economy and supporting industries in Rajasthan while also promoting the use of piped gas in households.

Additionally, the inauguration of the LPG Plant of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) at Abu Road is set to have a significant impact. This plant is equipped to bottle and distribute a staggering 86 lakh cylinders annually, resulting in a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions due to reduced transportation of cylinders.

The Ajmer Bottling Plant, operated by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), received additional storage facilities, further enhancing the capacity to meet the growing demands for LPG in the region.

In the realm of transportation infrastructure, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated a 4-lane road on NH-12 (New NH-52) on the Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar section. This road project, with an estimated cost exceeding Rs 1,480 crore, aims to facilitate the efficient transportation of mining produce from the Kota and Jhalawar districts.

Addressing the transportation challenges, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the expansion of the Railway Over Bridge (ROB) from two lanes to four lanes in Sawai Madhopur. This development will alleviate traffic congestion issues in the region.

Railway infrastructure received a significant boost with the doubling of the Chittorgarh - Neemuch Railway line and the electrification of the Kota – Chittorgarh Railway line, collectively valued at over Rs 650 crore. These projects are expected to enhance rail connectivity and contribute to the promotion of tourism to historic sites in Rajasthan.

In the education sector, the Prime Minister inaugurated the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Kota. This move aims to further strengthen Kota's identity as an education hub and promote the development of future-ready professionals.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the cultural and spiritual heritage of Rajasthan. The development of tourism facilities at Nathdwara, a major center of faith for followers of the Pushtimarg, under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, is set to enhance the experience of tourists visiting the region.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated the government's commitment to the development of Rajasthan, highlighting the significant investments made in modern infrastructure, expressways, highways, and railways. These projects, including the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway, are poised to bolster the logistics sector and boost economic growth in the state.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister mentioned the successful Aspirational District Program, which has been instrumental in uplifting underprivileged regions. He announced the expansion of this program to aspiring blocks in Rajasthan, emphasizing inclusive development.

In his closing remarks, Prime Minister Modi underscored the importance of courage, glory, and development, resonating with the rich history and potential of Rajasthan.
