The body of an unidentified woman was found lying in a dry canal in Farrukhnagar area on Monday morning, police said. According to the police, Vinaypal, a resident of Mahachana village was going towards his fields this morning when he noticed a foul smell coming from the canal near the field. He went near the canal and found a naked body of a woman lying in the canal and he informed the police, they said. (PTI)

The Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Bharuch police raided a unit in Dahej industrial area and seized raw material worth Rs 30 crore which was being processed to manufacture mephedrone, a banned synthetic simulant drug, an official said on Monday. The raid was carried out following a specific tip off, the official said. "The joint team has recovered raw material worth Rs 30 crore from the spot. The material was being used for manufacturing MD drugs. Further investigation is being carried out by the ATS," said the official.

The Kerala government on Monday said that three migrant labourers are missing and one has lost his life in the recent devastating landslide that hit the Mundakkai and Chooralmala regions of Wayanad on July 30. The government said 406 `guest workers` -- as they are addressed in Kerala -- were shifted to various relief camps after the landslide. "Three are missing. One person lost his life while another is in hospital," the state government said in a release.

Secretaries of departments assigned the task of restoring the rain-ravaged trek route to Kedarnath conducted an aerial survey and an on-spot inspection of the stretch on Monday and set a seven-day timeline to repair it for normal movement. The trek route to Kedarnath suffered extensive damage as a result of a cloudburst in Junglechatti near Lincholi last Wednesday.
