After an year of Israel-Hezbollah war, a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah will take effect at 4 a.m. local time (0200 GMT) on Wednesday (November 27). Both sides accepted an agreement brokered by the United States and France, U.S. President Joe Biden said on Tuesday (November 26). The accord, clearing the way for an end to a conflict that has killed thousands of people since it was ignited by the Gaza war last year, was designed to be a permanent cessation of hostilities, Biden said in remarks at the White House. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier said he was ready to implement a ceasefire deal and would respond forcefully to any violation by Hezbollah, declaring Israel would retain "complete military freedom of action." The Lebanon ceasefire agreement requires Israeli troops to withdraw from south Lebanon and Lebanon's army to deploy in the region, officials say. Hezbollah would end its armed presence along the border south of the Litani River. Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib said the Lebanese army would be ready to have at least 5,000 troops deployed in southern Lebanon as Israeli troops withdraw, and that the United States could play a role in rebuilding infrastructure destroyed by Israeli strikes.
27 November,2024 12:00 PM ISTAmid the ongoing Israel-Hezbollah war, International Criminal Court’s decision has sent shockwaves. In a major blow to Netanyahu, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant against him on November 21, 2024. Notably, Israel’s ex defence chief, as well as a Hamas leader, Ibrahim Al-Masri, were included in the warrant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. The decision was met with an outrage in Israel, where Benjamin Netanyahu’s supporters expressed their disappointment on ICC warrant. Netanyahu's office said the ICC decision was "anti-semitic" and he will "not yield to pressure, will not be deterred" until Israel's war objectives are met. The EU's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, said the decision was not a political one but made by a court and thus should be respected and implemented. Notably, Israel's 13-month campaign in Gaza has killed about 44,000 Palestinians and displaced nearly all the enclave's population, Gaza officials say.

Officials have confirmed that the gunmen targeted passenger vans travelling from Parachinar in Kurram in a convoy. Notably, no terror groups have claimed the responsibility of the major attack, that leaves the officials in despair. A recent surge has been observed in the violent and terror attacks in the Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan. Earlier on November 19, 12 Pakistan soldiers were killed in a suicide bombing incident by Islamist militants. The attack occurred in the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province when militants rammed an explosives-laden vehicle on a wall of a military outpost. Notably, the province, which borders Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is critical to Chinese Belt and Road projects and has recently seen a spike in attacks.

The strike followed 50 minutes after an Israeli evacuation warning for the area, a densely packed neighbourhood. No information about the casualties or injuries was not immediately reported from the strike. The strike came after Hezbollah fired nearly 200 rockets in Haifa on November 11 in a bid to avenge the killing of its top leaders. 11 November,2024 11:43 AM ISTIn a big blow to Israel-Hamas ceasefire attempts, Qatar has backed down from its ceasefire mediation in Gaza. Qatar said that it will stall efforts to mediate a ceasefire until Israel & Hamas show "willingness and seriousness" to resume talks. However, there was no official response from Hamas or Israel to the statement given by the Qatar Foreign Ministry. The latest round of talks in mid-October failed to produce a deal, with Hamas rejecting a short-term ceasefire proposal. Israel on several occasions rejected ceasefire or temporary ceasefire proposals for a longer truce. Notably, the Gulf country has been working alongside the US, and Egypt for months on fruitless talks between the warring sides in Gaza. Notably, Qatar has hosted Hamas political leaders since 2012 as part of a deal with the US, and the group's presence there has facilitated the progress of talks. The country hosts the largest US airbase in the Middle East but also allows Hamas and Afghanistan's Taliban to operate offices in Doha. It is unclear how many Hamas officials live in Doha, but they include several possible replacements for killed Hamas Chief Sinwar. The group's previous leader Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Iran in July was also based in Doha and his body was flown to Qatar for burial.
