Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train Project: Railway Minister inspects 1100-ton bridge

The Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train project is in works and to inspect the same, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected Ahmedabad railway station redevelopment project on March 01.  During his inspection of the National High-Speed Rail Project in Ahmedabad, Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw visits the steel bridge installation site at NH 48.   He said, "In Bullet train projects, many places have some kind of unique construction. This bridge is over 1100 tons. Many of its specialised components are Made in India, and many of the components are designed in India. The team that is working here is the expert of bridge building - this is the team which has worked in Anji and Chenab bridges."

A severe accident occurred on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway today around 8:30 AM, involving a truck and a WagonR car on the Mumbai-bound lane at Sativali Ghat, Vasai. The WagonR driver sustained serious injuries as both vehicles overturned. Traffic was disrupted for some time due to the accident. Valiv and highway police quickly arrived at the scene, providing assistance to the victims. The injured driver was rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. After ensuring the safety of the victims, the police worked to clear the overturned vehicles and restore traffic flow. The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.

WATCH: PM Modi inaugurates second phase of Ahmedabad metro rail project

On 16th September, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investment Meet & Expo (RE-INVEST 2024) and flagged off the 20.8 km corridor of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase II. This phase extends the North-South Metro Corridor from Phase I, featuring a mainline from APMC to Motera, extending to Mahatma Mandir, and a branch line from GNLU to GIFT City. The project includes an 8 km corridor with 8 stations, highlighted by a 15.4 km viaduct from Motera to Sector 1 with 6 stations. The initiative aims to enhance urban mobility and sustainable infrastructure, with a total investment of ₹3,284 crores. Following the flag-off, PM Modi traveled on the newly inaugurated train.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train To Come Soon | Check Out Key Details

The rapid construction of India’s mega bullet train project is underway at a record pace in Maharashtra. A 394-meter ‘ADIT’ has been excavated at Ghansoli for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project. This will accelerate the construction of the 21 km bullet train tunnel between BKC and Shilphata in Maharashtra. Taxing to ‘X’, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared the progress report of the ongoing project. The excavation work for ‘ADIT’ started in Dec 2023 and has been completed in a short period of six months. A total of 214 controlled blasts were carried out using 27,515 kg of explosives under the supervision of experts. The 26m deep inclined ADIT is 3.3 km long via the NATM (approx) and will facilitate the construction of the tunnel. Earlier in Oct 2022, EAM Jaishankar stated that “bullet train is on its way” and would be inaugurated by PM Modi soon. The sanctioned cost of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project is Rs 1,08,000 crore. However, anticipated timeline and final cost can only be ascertained after the award of all contract packages.

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested four Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists from the Ahmedabad airport on May 20. According to Gujarat Police, all four accused Mohammad Nusrat, Mohammad Nufran, Mohammad Faris and Mohammad Razdin are Sri Lankan nationals and were active members of the banned terror outfit, ISIS. Briefing about the arrest made, Gujarat DGP Vikash Sahay said as per the information received they were coming to India to commit a terror attack.
