Mumbai school receives bomb threat from group claiming to be ‘Afzal Gang’
A school in Mumbai received a bomb threat email on Thursday, which led to an immediate security response. The email claimed a bomb had been planted at the Global Ryan School in the Jogeshwari-Oshiwara area. Following this, the police and local authorities quickly arrived at the school. The bomb squad and explosive detection teams are currently searching the premises for any potential threat. However, as of now, no bomb has been found. The email mentioned that the Afzal gang was responsible for planting the bomb, and investigations are ongoing to find out more about the threat. Authorities are working to ensure the safety of everyone at the school and resolve the situation.. The recent bomb threat at the Global Ryan School comes just days after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in Mumbai also received a bomb threat email. The email, written in Russian, was sent to RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra's official address and threatened to blow up the bank. Bomb threats have become a growing issue for schools across India, though most turn out to be hoaxes. Earlier this week, two schools near Erode, Tamil Nadu, received similar bomb threat emails, leading to the evacuation of students while authorities conducted a thorough search. After several hours, the threat was confirmed to be false. In Delhi, the police have recently investigated a wave of hoax bomb threats targeting over 400 schools.

HMPV outbreak: 2 HMPV Cases detected in Bengaluru, India
On January 6, ICMR identified two cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) in Bengaluru, Karnataka, during routine checks. The patients, a 3-month-old girl and an 8-month-old boy, were admitted to Baptist Hospital. Despite these HMPV cases, there has been no significant rise in flu-like illnesses or Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) in India. This comes after reports of an HMPV outbreak in China, where the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration is testing a system to monitor pneumonia cases of unknown cause. HMPV is already circulating worldwide, including in India, with cases of respiratory illnesses linked to the virus reported in many countries.

Atul Subhash case: Court grants bail to wife, Family plans appeal in HC
Bengaluru's City Civil Court has granted bail to Nikita Singhania, her mother-in-law Nisha Singhania, and her brother-in-law Anurag Singhania in the Atul Subhash suicide case. Despite strong objections from the family of the deceased, the court decided to grant bail. Atul's brother, Vikas Modi, told ANI that they plan to challenge the court's decision in the High Court and, if needed, the Supreme Court. Atul mentioned that they had raised 15 strong objections against the bail, including the fact that the investigation is still ongoing. He stated that if they do not receive any relief from the High Court, they will take the matter to the Supreme Court.

Pawan Kumar Modi, the father of deceased Atul Subhash, expressed his deep concern over the disappearance of his grandson after the arrest of Nikita Singhania, Nisha Singhania, and Anurag Singhania. He said, "We have no idea where my grandson is, whether he's alive or dead. I just want him to come back to us. I thank the police for arresting the accused. However, I still haven't received justice as a case has been filed against me, including a new one involving my grandson. I appeal to PM Modi, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and other leaders to help bring my grandson home. For me, my grandson means more than my son, and the whole community supports me in this."

He said, "I filed an FIR against some people on the 9th. Those people have fled their homes. A few days ago, there was a video where they said they wouldn't speak to the media. If this isn't a system failure, then what is it? My brother's last wish was that if he gets justice, his ashes should be immersed in the Ganga, but if he doesn't get justice, they should be thrown into the gutter in front of the court. If even the judges sitting in court are involved in corruption, then one should give up hope for justice."

Atul Subhash case: Father breaks down in tears, mourns over his son's death
In a deeply emotional moment, Atul Subhash’s father was overcome with grief and cried as he mourned the loss of his son. He spoke with great sadness, saying that if Atul had been a girl instead of a boy, things might have turned out differently. Atul Subhash, died by suicide on 9th of December. He was living in Bengaluru but was originally from Uttar Pradesh. Before his death, Atul left behind a 24-page suicide note. In the note, he accused his wife, her family, and a judge of causing his distress. He claimed they were responsible for "explicit instigation for suicide, harassment, extortion, and corruption.
