Social media posts have emerged suggesting that Prakriti Lamsal was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend Advik Shrivastav before her tragic death. Her cousin has also filed a complaint alleging that she was being blackmailed by a male student at KIIT, which led her to take her own life. On the evening of February 16, police apprehended Srivastava near Biju Patnaik International Airport, with reports indicating he was trying to leave Bhubaneswar. A flight ticket from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata, dated February 16 and bearing his name, surfaced online, fueling speculation that he might have been attempting to flee following Lamsal's death.
