In the famed birthplace of Lord Krishna - Mathura, people gathered in large numbers at Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple and played with colours. People in the historic city of Varanasi were seen taking to the streets to play the colorful festivals. In the southern states of Telangana and Tamil Nadu - people and children were seen dancing and playing holi. In Assam’s Dibrugarh, Lord Krishna devotees carried out a special 'Prabhat Pheri' (morning procession) around the city, starting from Rani Sati temple on the occasion of Holi.

The district administration on Saturday morning carried out an anti-encroachment drive in the Shahi Jama Masjid area. The district administration team visited Sambhal to check on the noise pollution through loudspeakers, the Sambhal District Magistrate (DM) said, adding that they found that there was electricity (power) theft in the area.

03 December,2024 03:10 PM ISTDays after violence in UP’s Sambhal, heavy security has been deployed at Sambhal’s Shahi Jama Masjid head of Friday Namaz. Security forces have geared up to prevent any possible mishap in the region after the violence on 24 November. Drone camera, CCTVs, metal detectors and more advance technology tools have been brought in to keep close eyes on mischievous elements. Total 16 companies of security forces have been deployed including a Rapid Action Force team to keep a check on anti-social elements. Sambhal district court and other sensitive areas are under special surveillance to maintain peace in the area. Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Aunjaneya Kumar Singh said, “All kinds of arrangements have been made. Drone cameras are there...monitoring is being done through CCTV cameras. 16 companies have been deployed which includes one RAF...13 PSCs. We have spoken to Maulvis of Mosques...we have appealed to people to offer Namaz only in their own Mosques...we have appealed to people to come in fewer numbers to Jama Masjid...we are also monitoring social media platforms...sensitive areas are being monitored.”
