But what makes him so special, and why is February 19th celebrated with such devotion? Born on February 19, 1630, at the Shivneri Fort, Shivaji Maharaj was the son of Shahaji Bhosale who was a Maratha general under the Deccan Sultanate. And His mother was Jijabai.
